he airport of Seville, capital of Andalusia, may serve you well. Not only it covers the western part of Southern Spain, but also it is close to Portugal. It is well connected and serves over 7 million passengers yearly. It is also one of the hubs of budget airlines, so a weekend getaway looks even more promising.
It has a pet name – San Pablo Airport – you may sometimes hear this, so don’t be surprised.
Maybe it wasn’t built by Hercules, like the city itself, but it is operating since 1914. Since then, it was refurbished to give it more modern look mixed with historic and cultural elements of Seville’s past.
The airport is small in size and consists only from one terminal. It is smaller than the one in Malaga, but not in importance.
The dimensions make it easy to navigate. You will also easily find everything in the subject of connections: busses, taxis and rental offices.
Buses
Starting with the usual – the airport is located about 10 km away from the city, so it is a reasonably short drive – no matter if it is with a bus or car.
A special line connects the terminal with the city center – it is called Especial Aeropuerto (EA). You will find it just outside the terminal building.
Some bus stops that you may like to know about are Plaza de Armas or Santa Justa train station (for those travelling further).

Single ticket: 4€
Return ticket: 6€
The whole journey airport-Plaza de Armas (last stop) lasts 35 minutes, although in the rush hours it may be a bit longer.
Scheduling:
- The airport to the city center runs from 05:20 am to 01:15 am
- City center to the airport – from 04:30 am to 00:30 am

Taxi
The car will probably be the fastest means of transportation for a while. The taxi takes you to the terminal in 15 minutes.
Unfortunately, it is also the most expensive way to get there – between 20-31€, depending on the area you start from.
You will find them standing in front of the building and there will be a few different companies there. There is a flat fare for this connection, so it doesn’t matter which one you choose. Be warry that the cost may be higher on holidays, carnivals, or weekends.
